It’s Been A Year Already??

Yes, my friends (I can call you that, right?), it has been a year already.

I have my second day of work today, which is entirely classroom stuff. For those of you who don’t know, my job is as a pharmacy tech at CVS pharmacy. So far it went okay. I had orientation and then they put me out in the pharmacy on the registers at the front and in the drive-thru. It was sort of a baptism by fire. I think I did okay and the pharmacist complemented me at the end of my shift.

You all have a good day and a good rest of the weekend.

Help Me Write OUR Story

To all my fans, you know who you are, I was wondering if you could do me this huge favor, after all I write for you almost every single day. (Actually, your the icing on MY cake, if writing is the cake.) Anyway, I saw this on Megan’s site and she asked me to repost it on mine, so I was wondering if you would fill this out for me. Have fun, be silly, be real or not. It is all about me, but according to you. Thanks, Megan for the idea!

Do We Have a Winner?

Well, as promised, I hit that 5000 mark on my hit counter yesterday. I think that the winner of the contest is Veronika, from A Day in the Life of Veronika! Congratulations, Veronika! You get the linky love today! You get the bragging rights. Sorry you don’t get the money. I don’t have any! I hope you aren’t too disappointed.

Ahhh! I Missed My 100th Post!

100th Post!

Well, actually, this would be my 102nd post, but somehow yesterday I missed my 100th post! I have been around almost a year. My first post was back on February 18, 2005 and is one of the posts listed as a post to get to know me under the heading Sentimental Journey in the sidebar. If you are here for the first time, or want to get to know me better, head on over there for some posts that are either near and dear to my heart or tell you a little bit about who I am.

I want to thank all my readers who have stuck with me, especially GeekyMama, who got me started in this crazy blogworld and was my first reader. I have made so many good friends over this past year, if I started naming them I would be afraid I would hurt someone’s feelings if I left them out. I do have to give a mention to Leanne and Running2Ks, because without them we wouldn’t have Thursday Thirteen and Monday Memories and therefore, I wouldn’t have the traffic that I do. Also, I am proud to consider them my friends. Uisce, I have to give you a mention because today you are Michele’s site of the day and you are sharing the blog love with me by telling everyone to come over for my 100th post. Thank you, babe! And of course, this post wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t say a huge thank you to my twin, mentor and friend, Megan! She has really brought me along in this blog world and stuck with me through boring posts, trying times and cutting my figurative teeth as a writer. Thank you, hun! I love ya!

One more thing–sometime today, somebody will be my 5000th visitor! Will you be the lucky one?

(disclaimer: no prizes will be awarded except that someday you will be able to say, “I was the 5000th visitor to her website before she…” Fill in the blank with “was a published author”, “walked on the moon”,”was a multi-millionaire”, “was America’s most wanted criminal”.)

It’s a Party

Raehan, from Agog and Aghast, has been having a blog anniversary party. I am there, hosting a volleyball game in the yard. Come over and wish her happy anniversary, maybe get on her invite list for the next blog party that she has and check out what all the other attendees are doing. Also, while you are there, check out the rest of Raehan’s blog. She is quite the writer with some amazing stories of her past, her family and especially those cute little kids of hers. Thanks for having me to your party, Raehan!

Sexual or Not?

I told someone this morning that I didn’t have anything to post about and now I find that I have an abundance.

Mike, at Mindless Dribble, posed this question to his readers (all 3 million of them as he likes to say)–can men and women truly have a platonic relationship? Can they really be just friends? Mike says, “no, sex stuff always gets in the way.” I think I tend to agree with him because even though women may intend for it to be platonic but we all know that men are horny little buggers and you as the female part of the platonic friendship may never know that every time you are talking to him he sees you naked or in bed or…I’ll let you finish off with whatever other things he might be seeing you doing.

So, we both want to know what you think about this. Do you think men and women can have platonic friendships? Why or why not?

Go over and tell him, too. While you are there, wish him well with his mom, who is sick in the hospital.

Blog Olympics Champions

Yes, that’s right, I said Champions, as in two of them. There were two Grand Champions in the Blog Olympics. They both happen to be good friends of mine. How lucky am I?

The first(listed alphabetically to avoid the implication of favoritism) is Running2Ks from True Blue Semi-Crunchy Mama. She was magnificent! Her medal tally totaled 2 silvers and 4 golds. Once again proving that she rocks the blogging world.

Uisce of Whiskey Talking, though, proved to be a tenacious competitor. Such a strong challenger, in fact that they tied for Grand Champion. Which means that he also had 2 silvers and 4 golds.

I, myself was happy to finish with 1 gold, 1 bronze and 4 silvers. Thank you very much. It was a fun week. We met a lot of new friends and there really were no losers, there was controversy regarding David of Sugarloaf Mountain, there was great coverage of the events provided by Lazy Daisy, the closing ceremonies were awesome and there was even an after party provided by Carol of A Revision. There will be another Blog Olympics in January 2007. What madness will we see next time? Thank you to all who participated and to those of you who were cheerleaders. It really was a lot of fun.

Whaddayawant To Know?

Today I am taking questions. I want to know what you want to know about me, my blog, my family, my life or even questions that don’t pertain to me or anything about me. I will answer your questions within reason. By this I mean that I will not endanger myself or my family in anyway. I will try to answer all the questions honestly and if I don’t know the answers I will try to find them. Be straightforward, be creative, be thought-provoking or just be silly. Whatever you want. Because, you know, I’m here for ya!
